Enabling Lesson Previews
Offering a free preview is an effective way to market an online course. It gives potential students a glimpse of your teaching style and the quality of your content before they commit. In FluentCommunity, you can open up individual lessons to the public using the Free Preview Lesson option.
Use Case
Set the first lesson of your course — such as a "Welcome" video or the course outline — as a free preview. Interested visitors can then see what the course covers and who it's for, helping them make an informed decision about enrolling.
How to Enable a Lesson Preview
Previews are set on a per-lesson basis, from the lesson's own settings.
- Open the course editor and select the lesson you want to make available as a preview.
- In the lesson settings, check the Free Preview Lesson checkbox.
- Save the lesson.
Once enabled, public users can view that lesson without enrolling in the course. Every other lesson stays restricted to enrolled students.
TIP
Choose preview lessons that are engaging and clearly demonstrate the value of your course. An introduction, a high-value concept, or a particularly well-produced video all make strong candidates.
